BANDUNG, SEATIZENS.ID – Chelsea could only manage a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in their seventh Premier League match of the 2024/2025 season at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (October 6, 2024) evening.
The match was tough for Chelsea as Forest put up a strong fight and even took the lead despite being reduced to 10 men. James Ward-Prowse was sent off after receiving his second yellow card, but Forest still managed to score first through Chris Wood. Chelsea equalized through Noni Madueke.
This result leaves Chelsea with 14 points and in fourth place in the Premier League standings, while Nottingham Forest remains in ninth place with 10 points.
First Half: Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
The game began with high intensity, and both teams committed several fouls in the opening minutes. Forest had the first chance with a header from Yaes, assisted by Hudson-Odoi, but the ball was saved by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
The match then became a hard-fought battle with few clear opportunities. In the 39th minute, Forest threatened with a powerful shot from Murillos outside the penalty box, but Sanchez made another excellent save.
Chelsea finally posed a threat in the 42nd minute through a shot by Enzo Fernandez after receiving a pass from Madueke inside the box, but Sels, the Forest goalkeeper, blocked the shot.

In the 78th minute, Nottingham Forest was reduced to 10 men when James Ward-Prowse received a second yellow card for a handball. Despite being a man down, Forest defended resolutely and even created dangerous chances toward the end of the match.
The game was briefly halted in the 88th minute after a scuffle involving Williams and Cucurella. Several players were shown yellow cards for their involvement in the incident.
Forest nearly snatched a win in stoppage time, with Williams and Jota Silva both having excellent chances in the 90+5 and 90+13 minutes, but Sanchez made brilliant saves to keep the score level.
