Benjamin Netanyahu threatens to Destroy Lebanon like Gaza

Israel Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu

BANDUNG, SEATIZENS – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Lebanon that it could face destruction similar to Gaza. In a video message delivered on Tuesday, October 8, he urged the Lebanese people to take immediate action to prevent their country from falling into turmoil.

“You have the opportunity to save Lebanon before it descends into a long war that leads to destruction and suffering like what we see in Gaza,” Netanyahu said, as reported by AFP. He urged the Lebanese to free their nation from Hezbollah, the militant group that controls significant areas of Lebanon.

This warning comes as Israeli forces conduct ground operations along the Lebanese border. Their focus lies in the southern region, which Hezbollah predominantly controls.

Since October 1, Israeli troops have launched attacks in southern Lebanon. They claim these actions aim to neutralize threats along the border. As a result, many Lebanese civilians have evacuated their homes following military orders.

Israel'attack in Lebanon

Israeli forces target Hezbollah strongholds in southern and eastern Lebanon, extending their operations close to Beirut. A recent statement from the Israeli military announced that their 146th Division has begun attacking Hezbollah sites in southwestern Lebanon. As tensions rise, Netanyahu’s plea for the Lebanese to disassociate from Hezbollah highlights the seriousness of the ongoing conflict.
