BANDUNG, SEATIZENS – Israel recently launched airstrikes on several Iranian military centers. The Iranian government condemned these strikes as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. In a statement released on Sunday, October 27, 2024, the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta emphasized that this aggression violates principles protecting the sovereignty of nations. Moreover, Israel’s actions illustrate its aggressive and warlike tendencies.
The Islamic Republic of Iran firmly stated its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. In fact, the embassy declared that Iran is prepared to respond to Israeli military aggression. “We will utilize all available resources to defend ourselves,” the statement asserted. This response not only aims to protect Iran’s national security but also seeks to maintain regional and global stability against unlawful actions by Israel.
Urging Global Action
Furthermore, Iran called on all United Nations member states, as well as signatories to the ‘Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide’ and ‘Geneva Convention IV of 1949,’ to take immediate action. They should act collectively against the serious crimes committed by Israel. The statement stressed the responsibility of nations supporting Tel Aviv, particularly the United States, in perpetuating the occupation and committing various offenses. This includes allegations of genocide against the Palestinian population.
Additionally, the Iranian government reiterated its condemnation of Israeli actions. They urged all nations that value peace and freedom to unite against these aggressions. “We appreciate the strong and clear stance of the Government of Indonesia in denouncing the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran,” the statement concluded. They invite all peace-loving nations to work together to stop the crimes and aggressions of the Israeli regime.
