They discussed the enduring Thai-Chinese partnership, marking the Golden Year of Friendship. Paetongtarn supported China hosting APEC 2026 and invited Xi to Thailand’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.
According to Thaiger, the 38-year-old Thai premier praised China’s policies that foster productive forces, aligning with Thailand’s globalization and free trade goals. He expressed support for China hosting APEC. President Xi highlighted the deep friendship and committed to expanding cooperation in trade, innovation, clean energy, space technology, and education, focusing on poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

Thailand and China Strengthen Ties and Cultural Exchange
Thailand pledged to join the Global Civilisation Initiative, promoting cultural exchanges and enhancing soft power. President Xi reinforced China’s commitment to regional collaboration through the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) and the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (MLC).
China will increase agricultural imports from Thailand, boost investments, and strengthen cultural connections. Thai citizens welcomed these developments enthusiastically.
In a gesture of spiritual significance, President Xi confirmed the transfer of the revered Buddha Tooth Relic to Thailand.
