BANGKOK SEATIZENS – On a lively Sunday afternoon, the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok dazzled with a royal barge procession led by Their Majesties the King and Queen.

ACCORDING TO BANGKOK POST –The royal barge procession on the Chao Phraya River showcased 52 ornate barges and 2,200 skilled oarsmen as Their Majesties the King and Queen presented Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). Spanning 4.2 kilometers, the event resonated with beautiful boat songs and marked the end of Buddhist Lent, celebrating His Majesty’s 72nd birthday. It featured Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya and His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, emphasizing the strong ties between the monarchy and Buddhism.

Crowds gathered at viewpoints along the river, with many arriving as early as 4 a.m. to secure a good spot. Attendees expressed excitement to witness the ceremony in person, reflecting their deep devotion and pride for the King and Queen.
