Consequently, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) postponed the project, requiring financial viability for infrastructure developments. This decision balances economic benefits with financial feasibility.

EXAT Cancels N1 Section; High-Speed Train Contract Pending

This 10.55-kilometre route, costing 49.22 billion baht, was planned to connect the Si Rat Expressway to Prasert Manukit Road. Deputy Transport Minister Surapong Piyachote seeks Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s approval for a crucial Thai-Chinese high-speed train contract. The signing faces delays due to concerns about Ayutthaya Station’s proximity to the historical park, even though the planned route does not intersect the UNESCO World Heritage site.
