A jealousy-driven attack suspect has been caught after seven years on the run.

Bangkok Seatizens – Police arrested a 55-year-old man, Suwat, for a jealousy-fuelled attack where he shot his former father-in-law and his ex-wife’s former boyfriend’s mother. After seven years on the run, he was found bedridden from a stroke in a hut in Udon Thani on November 16.

According to Thaiger On November 9, 2017, Suwat attacked his 69-year-old former father-in-law, Virat, with a shotgun. Virat was injured and later died. Suwat also attempted to shoot his ex-wife and their child but missed, hitting a bedroom door. He then shot and killed 65-year-old Rampueng, the mother of his ex-wife’s former boyfriend.

Jealousy-Fuelled Attack Suspect Arrested After Seven Years

On November 9, 2017, Suwat used a shotgun to attack his 69-year-old former father-in-law, Virat, who later died from his injuries. Suwat also attempted to shoot his ex-wife and their child, but missed, hitting a bedroom door. Continuing his spree, he shot and killed 65-year-old Rampueng, the mother of his ex-wife’s former boyfriend.

Investigations revealed Suwat had previously threatened his ex-wife with violence. Fearing she might rekindle her relationship with her former boyfriend, Suwat’s jealousy drove his violent actions. After the shootings, police gathered evidence and secured an arrest warrant. Suwat evaded capture until recently, when police discovered he was working in Udon Thani.

During questioning, Suwat confessed to his crimes. He also faced another arrest warrant for attempted murder from 2017. Police transferred him to Pak Thong Chai Police Station for further legal proceedings. Reports indicated Suwat was bedridden due to a recent stroke and had been discharged from the hospital earlier this month for treatment related to a brain hemorrhage
