BANGKOK SEATIZENS –Two students, 13-year-old Kwun and 15-year-old Kan, drowned in the Bang Phai Reservoir in Chon Buri province while swimming to cool off during their school holidays. Suddenly, a whirlpool pulled them under. Their friends quickly called for help, but rescue efforts arrived too late. Divers discovered Kwun and Kan’s bodies entangled at the bottom of the reservoir about an hour later, leaving their families devastated by the loss.

Response and Recovery Efforts
According to Thaiger , Police Lieutenant Colonel Pornchai Lueaphon received the distress call around 5 p.m. and quickly sent officials and divers from local rescue organizations to the scene. The divers searched the overflow reservoir area and soon found the victims’ bodies, bringing deep sorrow to their grieving families.
Reflections from Friends and Family
Friends of the deceased shared that they had ridden motorcycles to the reservoir for a fun outing during their school break. One friend recounted the shocking moment when the strong current pulled Kwun and Kan underwater, emphasizing the tragedy of their loss. The police are investigating the incident further, documenting the scene and interviewing witnesses to understand how the drowning occurred.
