BANDUNG, SEATIZENS – The brutality of Israeli troops at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, resulted in the death of a child patient and several medical personnel injured.
The news of the brutality of the Israeli troops was reported by the WAFA news agency on Friday (26/10/2024).
The brutality of Israeli troops adds to a long list of attacks on health facilities in Gaza, which have raised global concern.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers entered the Kamal Adwan Hospital after an airstrike hit the main building and hospital grounds, including vital oxygen machines.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, confirmed to CNN that two pediatric patients who were on ventilators died because the machines were damaged in the attack.
According to Al Jazeera, the raid left more than 600 people trapped in hospitals, including patients, their relatives and medical staff.
The situation became increasingly worrying when the Israeli army closed aid access to hospitals, leaving dozens of patients waiting for surgery in critical condition. Gaza’s Ministry of Health stated that conditions at Kamal Adwan Hospital were at a “very worrying” level.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus, expressed concern over the loss of contact with Kamal Adwan Hospital staff and called the attack on the health facility “very disturbing.”

The Israeli military claimed that the attack was based on intelligence indicating the presence of “terrorists and terrorist infrastructure” inside the hospital.
However, this attack received strong criticism because it was considered to violate international law and endanger civilian patients and health workers.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli aggression in Gaza has left more than 42,800 Palestinians dead, the majority of them women and children, and injured more than 100,500 others.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza is getting worse with a tight blockade that is causing shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
The alleged genocide case against Israel is currently being investigated by the International Court of Justice, which is expected to provide a response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
